I would stick with a gender neutral design for now. I'm almost 15 weeks, and we are waiting till our U/S at week 18 to find out what we are having for sure before we start painting. We did order the furniture the other day though.

I think planning is fine! I thought I was pregnant for a boy but they assure me it's a girl! So definitely look for a gender neutral theme or plan for both. I wouldn't buy anything except gender neutral if ur shopping now!
I went with Winnie the Pooh which was gender neutral, and bought a few things related tot he character. After finding out the gender, I decided to go with pink and green accents. Looks really cute!
I'm a planner, so I understand your excitement to start! I'm 32 weeks and nursery is complete :)

Nothing wrong with looking!
If you want to buy a few items in a theme (cause you just can't wait) or you buy items you just must have that aren't unisex then just make sure you save the receipts! Make sure you know the return policies for the store as well (can't be opened, etc).

I already have my theme picked out too(the color scheme will vary depending on the sex) but we decided on the theme weeks ago (I'm 16w2d). I won't find out gender for a couple of weeks but we're excited:-) I think there's nothing wrong with having your ideas for either gender, that way as soon as you know, you are totally ready to get things going! I don't know about you, but my pregnancy seems to be going by so fast!
