Q: Please help :-(

I have been having some cramping so i decided to go to the docs. I am 4 weeks and 6 days and they performed a transvaginal ultrasound. There was an empty gestational sac :-( my doc says it might be too early to see anything or a blightened ovum. I need some hope! He says that my HCG levels are lower than he would like... I dont know what to think..I am scared :-(

Don't worry. I hope your Betas are good today. That is the best thing to go off of for you so early. I'm preggers w/twins, and Twin B never showed up on the scan til 7w 2d. At 6w3d, twin B was just an empty sac and Twin A was there heart beating and evertying! So don't give up hope - it's still really early for you! Let us know how things go today! :)

I went in at 5 weeks 6 days to my OB and they could not find the g/s or y/s! I totally freaked out! They sent me to a high tech u/s place and they found the baby with a heartbeat and all! The doctor's office said that their equipment was pretty poor considering all that's out there. Just take it easy and try not to stress I know it's hard! This 1st trimester is so emotionally stressfull!

I agree with the other two ladies. 5 weeks is super early. When I went in for my first u/s at 5 weeks 5 days, all we saw was a g/s and a yolk sac. I wouldn't stress about it too much. After another week or so, you should be able to see the baby. The yolk sac doesn't even appear until the 5th week. What were you hcg numbers? Did you only have 1 test?

Keep your hopes up honey. Anything before 6 wks is going to be hard to find. I hope they do some tests, Or I would ask them to do test to monitor HCG levels, and get another U/S scheduled for 2 weeks out. Good luck and I hope everything turns out ok

At 5 weeks seeing a sack and no baby is fine. Are they going to look for doubling? If not you should ask them to do so. When are they going to do another u/s?
