Q: Brown Spotting and scared to death! Everything seems to be ok....

I have been using progesterone suppositories since I found I was pregnant. Unfortunately these make a mess of your panties- so I use panty liners.

This morning, the discharge from the suppository, which is usually yellow in color, was light brown.

I called my dr. and they asked me to come. I had my progesterone levels checked and they were great. Dr. Said it was high enough to carry 3 babies. Ok... so he checked my cervix. Said it was healthy.

He sent me to have another ultrasound done to make sure there was still a fetal heartbeat. I was so nervous and anxious but what I saw was the biggest blessing from God above. My baby was still intact with a heartbeat of 162 and this time I actually could hear it thought he machine. Sweetest sound I've ever heard.

For now my dr. Says all is well, but we can't be certain until I reach 7 weeks. Has anyone else experienced this??? And everything has been ok???

I'm so happy but still so concerned for my baby

I had a subchorionice hematoma a little while back, probably around 7 weeks (I'm 9w6d today), and I FREAKED!!! I was bleeding RED! This is a tear in the placenta of the baby, which doesn't really have a cause - it just happens and is usually not a harm to the fetus. Since then mine has seemed to resolve itself and I get brown spotting like you described once in a while. I haven't seen spotting since about 4-5 days ago, so I'm thinking I've expelled it all by now. My babies (yes there's TWO!) are doing just fine. I've heard their heartbeats twice since the initial bleed -- 148 and 152 BPM and then 167 and 172 the second time. You're totally right in being concerned and nervous, but spotting during pregnancy is pretty common. Just make sure you stay in touch with your doctor and try to take it easy! Good luck! If you need anything, you can always message me! <3

I had a lot of spotting and brown discharge in this pregnancy early on, I freaked out every time and every time everything was ok. Though sometimes the brown discharge I guess can be sign of infection so I have had all kinds of swab tests done but no signs of infection. I would have spotting usually after intercourse it would go from pink to brown, after a hard bowel movement i some times spotted an orange red then to brown. I learned that it is honestly pretty common and breathed a sigh of relief after my appt the other day when my heartbeat was picked up quickly. I am now almost 15 weeks. I finally decided to stop worrying so much and start having faith that all was going to be ok. Easier said than done though!!! i know.. hang in there.

I have experienced the samething around 7 weeks for a few days i had a brown discharge.Of course i was freaking out called my fiance crying thinking i was M/C ..i called the nurse hotline the next morning and talked to an OB nurse, turns out that is quiet normal for some women and not to worry unless it turns bright red and i have alot of cramping. I am almost 14 weeks now and baby is happy, healthy, and growing! :)
