Is deli meat really bad during pregnancy?

I have ate lunch meat and my mom did when she was pregnant with me. And my lil one is still ok.

There have been a lot more veggie recalls over the past few years for listeria than lunch meat - there is currently one out for bagged salads... yet no body says stay away from veggies!! Just be smart, stay away from shady places/products, you will probably be fine :) I've had several deli meat sandwiches during my pregnancy and everything is completely fine.

Dunno about the US, but recent UK regulations say eating cured meat in pregnancy is fine. Bring on the salami :D

its the listeria thats the main concern,if u get sick shortly after go to er asap, otherwise ur fine :) also i hate hot dogs and they r on no no list for same reason and ive craved them so much so the second trimester so i broke down and ate 4 each time ... but i figured if u heat them whats the harm? steaming hot kills listeria :)

Your technically suppose heat all lunch meats an what not. But Ive been eating cold subs with both pregnancies. My daughter is almost a year old and in perfect health. Ive been eating them with this one and still not having any problems. Just do what you think is best.
