Q: Colorado Mountain Fire smoke. Please help!!

I live outside of the city of Colorado Springs in Falcon, CO, so I can see all the smoke from the mountain fire. Yesterday, the winds blew ash and smoke all around our house, and today, all I can smell in the house is smoke. My work is located in the city on the side where all the smoke is. Should I avoid going to work, and what can I do at home with all the smoke?! I'm only 5 weeks, but I don't want all this to harm the baby. What should I do?

If you want to see pictures, I have an update on my blog about the fire at:

http://fertilitystrugglessuck.blogspot.com/

Please check it out and you'll see how much smoke was around my house even though I'm 25+ minutes away from the city. About 45 to an hour from the fires depending on traffic. Any help would be appreciated!

Unless you have breathing problems it shouldn't hurt your baby - pretty sure the main risk would be lack of oxygen to the baby, and you'd know if there was a problem there cause you'd be unable to breathe first. If you are worried about it or you do have bad allergies, asthma, or any other problems I would call your doc and ask, but I think you will be ok.
