I had mine at 26 weeks and I don't regret it one bit. I have my nursery almost done now and I am glad I did it this way because I am getting way too tired again. Plus I received over $600 in gift cards and I was able to purchase EVERYTHING I didnt have. It has worked out really well. I say go ahead and do it August gives you plenty of time to get ready!

I'm due August 16th and my shower was June 16th. I also had a work shower in May (but I'm a teacher and it was the last week of work). I think any time during the third trimester is fine, but I wouldn't wait until too close to the end:-)

A couple months before your due date is usually a good plan. Just like PP poster mentioned. Gives you time to get things put away and washed or purchase anything you're missing (or if baby comes early like mine did!). My little girl came 10 weeks early so I ended up having to have my baby shower after she was born! haha! It was definitely different :) I wasn't pregnant anymore and she was still in the hospital! But it was a lovely day and I got to have pictures of her up all over the place so everyone could see her!

I had mine a couple weekends ago when I was almost 30 weeks (29+5). I felt that was a good time, almost two months to get everything set up and organized. I am just now starting to feel like I am getting close to ready, and I can do a little bit more every weekend so there is no huge rush and I'm not overworking myself.

Congrats!
I am due October 16, and my mom and mother in law have planned my shower for August 12. This way, I will have a couple of months to wash all of the things I need to, to set up the nursery the way that I want with all of the things I recieve from the shower; and also so that my hubby and I will have enough time to purchase the remaining things which were not bought for my shower.
I'm a planner; and like you, definetly don't want to be rushed in the last few weeks. Plus, you never know-baby may come early! :)
Good luck!
