Q: Exhaustion at Work... What do you do?

So, I am 5 weeks pregnant. Fortunately, I have not had too many symptoms. Just some cramping, sore breasts, and only a few bouts of nausea. That being said, I do get these waves of exhaustion that just seem to hit me like a Mack Truck. I can barely keep my eyes open or my head up. Its fine when I am at home, but when I am at work, I can't just take a nap. I have not told anyone at work yet.

What helped you? Thanks for the advice ladies!

Needless to say, it only gets worse! I am almost 12 wks and it keeps getting worse. If you can, nap as often as you can. My drs told me, when my body is slowing down and i feel exhausted to lay down and take a nap. If you cant, just take a quick walk or keep snacking throughout the day and drink alot of water. I learned to try to keep myself awake by drinking tons of water, that way i am constantly getting up to go to the bathroom lol. I hope this helps you a little bit. GL!

Tell me about it! I am very, very lucky in that I can sneak away on my lunch break at work and nap for 20 or 30 minutes (setting a timer on my watch)... my boss there doesn't know that I'm pregnant either. When I just can't take a nap, I try to do some stretching exercises and move around a bit. Eating a few small snacks also helps to make sure you don't get a post-meal energy crash. These things aren't a super big help, but they can make the difference between making it through a client meeting and snoring in the middle!! :) PS- I'm 15w and still dealing with this.
