Q: 5wks (i think) hcg levels 10,000

I went to the ER 2 days ago for brown spotting because my Doc office was already closed...anyways they did an ultrasound, pelvic exam and blood work. My numbers came back at 10,000 but nothing on US. I get blood work done again tonight, as it has to be 48hrs and I went to the ER at 11pm..ugh lucky me! Anywho I'm not too familiar with the significance of these numbers because I didn't have this problem with my son who is now 13mos. So what does 10,000 mean, is that HIGH? My numbers have been tripling, but no ectopic or molor pregnancy....

I was always told that it isn't about the actual number (b/c everyone's is different)...it is if it is doubleing every 48 hours (or so) as it is supposed to. I was about 5 weeks pregnant when I found out and had my levels tested. The first day they were at 519 and 2-3 days later they were over 4,200. Remember, it isn't about the number, you need to have it taken at least twice to see if the numbers are at least doubleing. Hope this helps.
