I think this probably totally depends on your levels. But I'll give you my honest response, and I truly don't mean to scare you here. My last pregnancy, my Dr wanted my to stop at 10 weeks too. I felt really nervous but I listened to her and went off it at 10 weeks. I had an u/s at 9 1/2 weeks and baby was great. At my 12 week appointment they said I had lost the baby and it was measuring around 10 weeks. So I really regreted it! I have no idea if it was because of stopping but it ate away at me for a while. So next time I became pregnant I told my Dr that I won't stop until past 12 weeks. She understood, said it wasn't necessary but she'd keep my progesterone going until I was ready to stop. I also had her test me before I went off and right after. I am now almost 30w4d. I still have no idea what really caused my mc but for my own peace of mind, I'm glad I followed my heart this time. I wish you a very healthy 9 months!

Blessings!

Wow! I am going to be on them until I am 36 weeks. Is that not the norm? They do hurt but it hurts worse to have a premature baby.

I was on it till I was 11 weeks. Would have been longer, but I switched OB's and he told me to stop getting the shot cuz after 10 11 weeks the placenta takes over! Thank goodness I got to quit cuz I was so sore from it! I have had a pretty good pregnancy, 38 weeks and 2 days now!!

I stopped progesterone at 10 weeks because I was having serious side affects. I had NO ISSUES stopping cold turkey. The other poster is correct. Placenta shold be big enough to take over.

I stopped at 10 weeks with my first pregnancy and everything was fine! The placenta should be big enough to take over producing progesterone by this point. Good luck!
