Q: Abnormal smear test

Hi i am currently 10 and a half wks pregnant but before i found out i was pregnant i had a routine smear test in which they found abnormal cell changes, i then found out i was pregnant have experienced bleeding and spotting ever since i found out i was pregnant..im due to see a doctor about it in a few weeks jst wondered if anyone has had a similar experience? As im worrying that it is something sinister :(

Hey yep hearing abnormal defo sets of alarm bells! one thing I forgot to say is that if you were ever so slightly prego when having your smear it often comes up with changing or abnormal cells. its the test picking up somthings going on down there! lol. Good luck

Thank you for that it has reassured me a bit, abnormal result jst automatically makes you think of the dreaded C word, hopefully itl be fine

Hi I had a similar situation. I had an abormal smear just before I found out I was prego last time. I had strange cm throughout pregnancy and at 6 weeks post partum went in for another smear. This also came back abormal. I was sent in for a colposcopy at hospital where they look and your cervix with a camera and cut/ burn the bad cells out. I have had this done twice. My third smear was then clear. As im prego again they are keeping a closer eye on cm and will be back after this baby for another colposcopy. Its scary but dont worry! I know several of my friends that have been through a similar process over the years and are just fine!
