I did actually my last appt last month we discussed it. It is HPV or pre cancer cells but it can be taken care of before turning into cancer. Its not cancer though it would take like years for it to reach that stage. Also i already knew about this problem with me i found out August 2004, it went away on its own because i had gotten pap smears before and came back normal seems to trigger more when i'm pregnant. . . And alot of women get it. .

It does mean you might have changes but more than likely you will be fine. The second check is to be sure that the 1st was accurate since so many factors can affect this test and 1st could be wrong. If the cells are abnormal they will monitor you more closely depending on how abnormal the cells are. Abnormal doesn't mean cancer always. But you would have to have really fast growing malignancy to affect your baby. I had an abnormal pap smear before pregnancy and when tested they came back as atypical but were not cancer. After the baby is born they will want to do a colposcopy(they will put you in the stirrups like a pap and put vinegar on your cervix, any abnormality will turn white and they will pinch it off and test it). I had one and there was little discomfort just a bit more discharge afterwards. If those tests come back abnormal you would need further testing. But they wont do them until after delivery. Good luck and try not to worry ...
