You are not even close to having trouble trying to conceive hun...statistically, most healthy couples conceive within 12-18 months of trying. 50% of couples take 5-6 months (also most of these couples are at a younger age then you and your hubby), 85% get pregnant after 1 year and 92% get pregnant after 2 years. You can consider yourself "having trouble trying to conceive" after you've been trying for over 2 years. Just calm down. It takes patience. I suggest trying to use OPKs to track your ovulation or checking your basal body temperature every morning to track ovulation (it has to be at exactly the same time every morning and before you get up out of bed...google how to properly do it if you would like to try this method). Good luck and happy baby making! :)

I was 23 and my husband 24 and it took us 3 years to conceive, then our baby was still born at 33 weeks, fingers crossed for next time, but I use count down to pregnancy the first and and using it again, I find it good cuz I know I'm not the only crazy lady out there with all the "normal" questions, I tried fertility herbs, I found they made my cycle regular, and my ovulation regular, I also used vitamin b, ovulation testers, basal temp monitor, cervical mucus monitoring, cervix monitoring, conceive plus lube,. I tried just about everything, I found first you have to get your cycle regular and monitor ur ovulation, once I worked out my ovulation I had to have sex then, so I used the spree friendly lube to make sure the sperm stayed alive as long as possible in a healthy environment, once I started with the lube I fell pregnant by my second cycle. Good luck. Brightest blessings :-)

Some things that helped me, use opk sticks, wondfo from amazon.com, chart your body basal temp to check when ovulation has already occured (your temp will spike), use PreSeed and Instead SoftCups to hold the sperm inside. Put the preseed into the soft cup before inserting after intercourse. This will keep the sperm with you up to 12 hours. Have sex every other day around your fertile period. This would be 14 days BEFORE you expect your next period, not after. This is all advise given to me by my OB.

My advice to you would be to start charting your basal body temperature in order to find out when you actually ovulate. I got pregnant twice thanks to charting - the cycle I got pregnant this time, I ovulated on the 24 day of my cycle! I would never have known if I had not been charting. Ovulation prediction kits are also pretty useful, but they can be a bit confusing at first, so I would definitely start by charting alone.
But, as others have said, it's not unusual for it to take more than 5 months, so there is no reason for you to be worried just yet. Good luck!

I'm 28 and my DH is 33 and it took us 1 year and few months..it can take a while...if you are really concerned start with sending your DH for a sperm analysis...then you can do some blood tests to check your hormone levels...if all is well then just continue trying..it will happen...god has its own timing for us...good luck!

Don't sweat it too much yet as it's only been 5 months. The odds are on your side that you will conceive within the year. There is a sister site to this one called Count down TO pregnancy. It's very good and a lot of us on this site started off there! Lots of people TTC over there and they have a ton of advice and support. If you are in a rush to get pregnant as many of us are/were then make an appointment with you doc to get checked over for infertility. Some doctor won't take you until you have been trying for a year but just lie and say you've already been trying that long. Some would disagree with this method but in my opinion it's not up to a doctor or anyone else to decide when you should seek help.

You might want to start using some ovulation predictor kits, etc. Sometimes conceiving a second is harder than the first. Also - a great place to go for support and help is the sister site to this one Countdown to Pregnancy. It took us a year and half to conceive this baby - and I found the site really helpful.

It can take a 100% healthy couple up to a year, just statistically. So you have nothing to worry about yet.

I'd suggest heading over to countdowntopgregnancy.com

Its a community of ladies trying to get pregnant and is full of really good tips and information.

Good luck!
