Q: when is it too early to quit your job?

I'm having some pretty intense nausea and have thrown up a few times now, I'm at 7.5 weeks. I know that I want to leave my job after baby is born, and possibly earlier but I don't know when is too early.
Did anyone leave their job too late or too early and have any thoughts on the matter? My job is working from home so I get to nap and be sick on my own time (lucky me) but still, the symptoms are weighing on me and I'm falling behind on work regularly.

Appreciate thoughts and advice on quitting? I also want to enjoy my first pregnancy as much as possible. And we CAN afford for me to quit, it would just be very tight...

all the sickness is soooo hard to deal with. have you asked your doc for any meds? zofran disintegrating tablets killed my nausea in under 20 seconds every time. it's the only way i got through the sickness. i was sick for 20 weeks, but kept on working. i was soooo tempted to quit work, but we are in the same boat as you. we can afford for me to quit, but it would be tight. i decided to keep working to offset all of the cost of preparing for the baby. you can make it through this! it is obviously up to you, but 32 weeks is a looooooong time to not be working and just waiting around for baby...good luck!

Obviously, it's up to you, but I would try and get through the first trimester, because you may feel much better in the second tri and wonder why you quit so early. I'm almost 26 weeks and still working 40 hr weeks, and probably will be until I pop, unless I end up on bedrest for some reason (god forbid).

That's a question that is hard for anyone to really answer. For me, I'm happy that I work usually only about 25 hours a week, so that way I can still enjoy some days off during the week. I also know that working keeps me busy, and sometimes staying at home too long makes me go stir crazy. I want to make it till at least 7.5 months working if I can, but I am only worried about going stir crazy being at home alone! That's my only major worry. We have learned to live on a budget, so that doesn't bother me TOO much. If it doesn't feel right to you, I wouldn't quit yet. I am trying to judge it base on what feels right inside.
