Q: Anyone else experiencing Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (intense pelvic pain) and how r u dealing?

Just found out that I have a severe case of SPD. I am now using crutches to get around and am looking into getting a wheelchair so I can leave the house. Anyone else going through this type of SPD? I can't sleep at night without crying out for DH to help flip me around or lift my legs in different positions. Is there a secret to dealing with this? I have three more weeks and I'm not sure how I'm going to deal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

OMG! I think I have the same thing, but will bring it up to the doctors at my appt thursday. All I know it KILLS me to get up from the couch, out of bed, it hurts when I walk, it's awful. I'm only 30w6d and has been in pain for a while now since she flipped at 26w. I didn't think anything of it until recently when I was almost down for the count getting up from laying on the couch.

A friend of mine who is pregnant also, is having that really bad too. She's been taken off work already and she's only 25 weeks along. She says chiropractic care is helping a lot and she uses a hip belt. It's a little different than a belly support belt. You get it from a physical therapist or maybe the chiropractor can give you one too. You wear it low, around the hips and sacral joints. It helps pull everything back together and take the pressure off the pubic bone in the front. I've started going to my chiropractor too, to help with my low back and hip pain, and it's been extremely helpful!

Thanks Redrouge! I hope you're right and that it flies by! Sorry that you're struggling too, boo on sleepless nights.

Melissa- I bought the belt and it help a tiny bit but only when walking. Sleeping is another story lol. I find if I do very little moving around during the day (like, nothing at all lol) then sleep isn't as bad in that I can sleep on and off without tears and screaming. I think if it doesn't get any better I will have to go the chiropractic route but our coverage is truly pathetic:S

I looked it up. It says that a belly support belt and chiropractic care can help. I feel for you!

Oh no! I never dealt with anything like that. Did they give you a reason? Is it just because of where baby is sitting and your bones and muscles separating already?

Thankfully it's only three more weeks that are left. Big hugs!
