Debs...my son came out crying. He was very anemic because I lost so much blood. He only weighed 4 1/2 pounds, but was breathing on his own. He was only in the NICU to gain weight and learn to eat. He has met all the milestones: started crawling at 8 months and walking at 11 months. He is amazing and doing fantastic.

At my 20 week scan they told me it was low lying but that it will probably move up as my uterus grows they didn't say this could happen, but I was at the hospital getting checked for pains iv been having and leaking fluid they said they had to quickly scan before examining me n that's when they discovered I had complete placenta praevia which is the grade 4 part with potential accreta they are making up a plan and iv to go up on the 21st to a specialist they said he could just keep me in for the duration of my pregnancy and the only reason I got home yesterday was because I stay so close to the hospital, the doctor yesterday did tell me stuff but I think I was that shocked it went in one ear n out the other, I hope your placenta moves up for your next scan x

My doctor didn't say anything about Grade 4. We'll find out if the placenta changed position in a few weeks here. I'm so sorry for what you're going through! My doctor made it sound like even if it didn't move, I'd be alright. I am assuming that it must not be a Grade 4 on my 20 week ultrasound or she would have been more concerned. Hope that all goes well with you. Hang in there!

Queenmommy if your grade 4 your doctor should be concerned it's potentially life threatening, thanks for the link il read that, the sex thing I was like oh right that's a long time lol, ye estone I'm on bed rest the only reason I wasn't kept in was because the hospital is basically next door, iv been banned from sex. Exercise , they told me even the tiniest spot of blood iv to get up there or even any pain, that's the but that worried me most having the baby so early:( how was your baby at 34 weeks?

Did your doctor put you on bedrest? I had an undiagnosed previa with my son and I started hemorraging and ended up having him at 34 weeks, via emergency csection. As long as you take it easy and are seen by your doc often, you should be fine.

I have placenta previa as well. It's when your placenta is too low. http://www.webmd.com/baby/understanding-placenta-previa-basics My doctor isn't too concerned about it. I'm going in for an Ultra-Sound when I'm 32 weeks to see if it has moved. Until then, no sex for me and the hubs. It's been hard lol You'll be alright.
