I had to just cut down on spicy food and even salty soon. That relief was the most lasting for me.

I read that bananas helped....so I'd eat one if I started having heartburn and it seemed to help.

With both of my pregnancies I took Tums until I needed something stronger. You can take too many Tums in one day even though they are just calcium, so make sure you follow the directions (you can "od" on calcium which has some unpleasant side effects).
