Technically if you aren't little before pregnancy then most doctors only recommend 10-15lbs but if you are under weight before pregnancy or well a smaller size then the old 20-25lbs rule applies.

I lost 7 lbs in my first trimester and have only gained back 6 of those. I'm 20 weeks today and also overweight for my height. My bump is pretty big because there's a lot going on besides baby in my belly (I am built with a thicker middle).
Don't stress about the weight gain unless the docs start telling you to focus on it. Eat healthy and take care of yourself. Worrying too much about weight gain only causes extra stress and no one needs that.

Im 19 weeks and haven't gained a pound but my baby is measuring fine. I look like I lost weight in my face and my belly is getting big. I'm just trying to not worry about my weight unless the baby starts measuring small.

I was overweight before getting pregnant. At 12 weeks I'd gained 1.5 pounds (wasn't dieting or watching what I was eating really, just my normal foods). I believe my body just didn't need to gain weight.
So far I'm 26 weeks and have gained 13 pounds...I started adding weight in the second trimester.
As long as you are eating healthy and not depriving yourself I think it's fine!
