Q: Excellent info on infant/convertible car seat for compact cars!!!!

Hi all the Mama to be's out there! I am going to share my car seat debacle with you in hopes of helping you avoid what my husband and I just went through! So...4 car seats later...we finally found a car seat to fit my husbands Mazda Speed 3 hatchback (in the rear facing position)! After tons of research and trips to multiple stores...countless measurements...and many lovely words uttered by yours truly...we finally purchased a Safety 1st Guide 65 Sport Convertible Car Seat! It came to the point that money was no object in finding a seat to fit...but this one was under $100!!! It fits perfectly in the middle seat of his Mazda Speed3! I just wanted to share my experience with you because I know there are a lot of compact cars out there and we were beginning to feel completely defeated. Best of luck to you all!!! ;-)

@Killeen Mommy: it wasn't the width across that we were having an issue with. It was the length. When we installed the other ones, the passenger seat had to come forward so much that no one could sit in the front seat. Thats what was so frustrating. The one we finally got does allow rear facing to 40 pounds I believe and then forward facing to 65. :-)

The radian 120 can fit 3 across in my truck which I am sure is smaller then your car. Another reason to get this seat is your child is able to rear face longer which is safer. The federal age min is now 2 but with this seat you can go to 4+ and then it can go FF until 80lbs I think.

Lol that's exactly where I was headed too! He already traded in his Hyundai Genesis for the Mazda Speed3 so trading yet another car in was not his idea of a fun time! Thank god my car is a Hyundai Sonata, so we had one baby friendly car lol.
