I don't know about Kentucky, but we live in Nova Scotia and that'd be illegal here. As long as you've been there past your probation period and have a Doctors note I don't think there is much that they can do! Good luck :)

You will have to look further into pregnancy discrimination laws. Most pregnant women are covered by the ADA if their place of employment has 15 or more employees. However, I think how your job is getting away with this unfair practice is that they have to treat pregnant women who medically need lighter work as they would anyone else with a disability. The pregnancy & maternity leave laws in this country are some of the worst in the world, so you may have to do a bit of legal research if you are indeed unable to perform your duties.

Thanks for the answers. My boss will come right out and say that if you have to have light duty you are terminated. I have heard even if your doc writes that you are not allowed and overtime they will terminate you as well.
I guess I need to find a lawyer if anything should happen.

I worked in a group home during my first pregnancy and was told I could only lift the consumers up until 28 weeks after that no lifting. I still was able to do all my other duties beside transfer patients and my coworkers were cool with it. I would assume it would be against the law to fire you as it would be discrimination. Check your employee handbook and see if it covers being pregnant.
