Q: High Blood Pressure, Headache that won't go away and spotty vision BUT Dr is not worried...

Lately I've had a splitting headache that won't go away, this is going on 3 days now..
I've taken my blood pressure at our local pharmacy and have had readings that were all above 160/90 and one was even 169/98.. that seems pretty high to me!
I've even had vision changes.
BUT I've had NO protein in my urine..
What could this possibly be?
The headache makes it almost unbearable..
ADVICE PLEASE???

Sorry I missed the part about the protein . I would still want to have your blood work checked for low platelets etc. but really if it's that bad you should go into L&D . And you should be monitored closely .

I had severe pre e and hellp syndrome . Please don't ignore this ! That bp IS high . If you can't get a dr to listen to you then need to find someone who will . It is possible to have high bp without pre e but you won't know unless your urine is checked for protein . Also a blood work up would be good . Just please don't ignore this .

Vision changes and headaches are common, my eye sight completely changed from long sighted to short during my 2 nd pregnsncy and this pregnsncy I need to wear my glasses more than ever as my vision is even mire blury with out them. I'm 16wks at the moment.
Some infomation says you're vision goes back to normal but that isn't always the case as mine stayed that way and just got worse as i didn't get glasses till last summer after i found i couldn't see properly while driving in the dark.
Hopefully they are all seperate things caused by you're pregnancy and with stay that way, pregnancy does throw a few things at you at once and can cause confussion but alway see someone is really worried.

If you are having painful headaches and also high blood pressure, I would definitely keep an eye out. I had a friend who had the same symptoms as you and she had eclampsia and had her son at 34 weeks. If you are concerned, I would get it checked out.

As far as the headache goes, there was a point in my pregnancy where i had splitting headaches for WEEKS, it's just hormones and nothing to be worried about although it's very painful.

It is common to have gestational high blood pressure in pregnancy which is not the same as pre eclampsia (this is when you have no protein but all the other symptoms) Some women have this up until birth with no other issues BUT this does not mean you won't get the protein and pre eclampsia diagnosis further down the line. Its something that will be monitored by your Dr.
Fingers crossed this doesn't progress to pre eclampsia but either way keep calm and take it easy.
