Q: My 1yr old just had Roseola (sixth disease). Worry over being pregnant. I know it's common, but...

..I've researched and found there's not much worry, I'm in my first trimester and most people by adult have already had it and therefore have immunity to it.. but it says that miscarriage could happen if you're exposed to Roseola in your first trimester, and disfigurement if you're later in your pregnancy. Obviously there was nothing I could do, as it was my little girl and I was going to be there for her.. But anyone know the probability there could be issues with the fetus even if like they say, I've probably had it before?

So I just spoke with my doctor's office and they said there's no test that could be done.. She said that it's the fifth's disease that they test for and this one is the 'sixth's disease. When I took my daughter in on Monday they didn't say anything about a test for me either then... ugh.

Definitely contact your Dr. I think that was one of the things I was tested for after I lost my baby at 18wks.

When I was pregnant with my second I was exposed to this because I worked in a daycare. I informed my doctor and they sent me for a blood test to make sure I had the disease as a child. I did have it as a kid, most people do, but you should call the dr. anyway to see if he wants you tested.
