I have high bp that I also inherited from my father...thanks dad lol! I was already taking medication for it when I became pregnant. I also had to do the 24 hour urine test (creatinine clearance test if your interested in more info). I will be 30 weeks tomorrow and so far so good! With the medication it stays 120ish/70ish woot woot! I watch my salt intake and I haven't gained very much weight ( 8 pounds so far). I think this has contributed greatly to helping my blood pressure stay controlled and not tip over into that pre-e area. If you have any questions feel free to message me. Good luck and best wishes for a happy, healthy pregnancy!

My BP isn't that high but I have chronic hypertension and am on medication (which I am on even when I'm not pregnant). My daughter was born full-term and I was not diagnosed with preeclampsia. This pregnancy I am also on the medication and my csection is scheduled for Monday. I had to do 24 hour urine tests twice this pregnancy. The highest was 270 (it's usually above 300 to be considered preeclampsia). For both pregnancies I had to do non stress tests twice a week during my third trimester to monitor the baby's heartbeat due to the BP meds (no problems with either). The highest my BP has been this time around was 140/70 and my dr considered putting me on bed rest (the only reason she didn't was bc my 24 hour urine was good).

Yes!!!!! I am usually around 117-120/80. Just recently as I ended my second trimester until now I am 32 weeks my blood pressure had been increased. I actually dealt with this, this week. My feet have been swelling and I was having bed headaches on monday went to the doctor my bp was 147/80! They sent me for labs and even talked about admitting me. Luckily all was well with my labs, I am now diagnosed with pregnancy hypertension. They will just monitor me a little more closely to make sure it doesnt turn into preclampsia.
