Q: Spotting pink discharge for 5 days now.. and last night a very small trace of bright pink tissue.

I understand spotting is ok if it's pink.. but is it ok if I'm spotting pink off and on for 3 days, and the last 2 days all day? Last night I did have 2 pieces that were bright red too. My doctors are monitoring me closely for other reasons and are sounding negative... but why if this is normal??

I'm 8weeks 1 day.. And sadly, around noon today the pink turned into bright red that's been like the start of my periods, with little pieces starting too. My pains have also increased and are more then PMS.

I also know that sometimes you can also bleed for other reasons, like a subchorionic hemmorhage. So just definitely take it easy

I had the same thing with my miscarriage last year and even though I had been told that pink spotting is normal, I spotted pink for about 3 or more days at around 5 weeks and my midwife at the time said that it was not normal. It stopped but then it began again at almost 9 weeks and I miscarried at 9 weeks. And yes bright red blood is concerning. I know this isnt very comforting, but the best thing you can do is take it easy and let your body rest for however this turns out. I also agree w/ Danni that they are definitely right to be monitoring you. how far along are you?

spotting "can" be normal, but only if brown or pinkish... bright red blood is cause for concern and they are right to monitor you. Good Luck.
