Q: Pregnancy approved antibiotics...how bad are they for the baby?

I was in the ER for excessive vomiting and dehydration for a bad stomach bug and the urine showed high white blood cells, they thought I had a UTI. They prescribed pregnancy-approved antibiotics, but I got a call today, 2.5 days later, that I should stop taking them bc I don't have a UTI - the culture they sent away showed up normal after all. I'm so upset and nervous about taking the antibiotics for the past two and half days... anyone else have to do that? Looking for reassurance that baby is okay (I'm 13 weeks today)

Been on pregnancy approved antibiotics twice, one for over 3 weeks so far. Don't worry!

I wouldn't fret over taking the antibiotics. However I'm not sure why they would make you stop taking antibiotics knowing that you had high WBC in your urine. 1) stopping antibiotics in the middle of it's regimen may render you immune to the antibiotics 2) I would think that having high WBC means that you are fighting an infection, not necessarily UTI.
