Q: 7 weeks 6 days ultrasound showed few small perigestational bleeds.

hi mummies had my 1st ultrasound yesterday, lmp was 8 weeks but measuring 7+6 told one day off is ok. sonographer said everything seems fine heart rate of 163bpm baby measuring 14.6mm only thing she noticed was a few small perigestational bleeds on the edges of the gestational sac largest being 14x5x7mm. I was shocked to hear this because I have had no spotting or bleeding very minimal cramping/stretching. my last pregnancy was a missed miscarriage 3 months ago lost it at 8 weeks 1day and I had spotting and cramping the entire time till I lost it but they didn't see any bleeds internally with that pregnancy. she told me these are quite common n usually correct themselves is this true has anyone else had them?

Yes I had one, was found on my 7 week ultrasound. The tech asked me if I had had any spotting because it was quite a moderate size but I'd had none. At 11 weeks I gushed bright red blood and clots, went to ER had ultrasound bibs was fine! I went on bedrest (which including no sex or orgasms) and bleeding stopped at 14 weeks and clot was completely gone by 16 weeks. I'm now 33 weeks and have had no problems since. Sub choroinic hematomas are quite common and are caused by the egg tearing away slightly at implantation. They normally resolve on their own but I believe bedrest really did help mine heal faster. Goodluck xx

Yes very common so now that you know if you get a little bleeding don't freak out you know why. Small bleeds on the u/s in the early weeks are common. You may not experience any bleeding but they like to let you know incase you do spot that you don't panic. :-)
