I have have been taking progesterone since 1DPO, My specialist told me that the embryo starts producing its own hormone - progesterone starting at 12 weeks of pregnancy, If you are on progesterone suppositories or oral i was told to never stop cold turkey that the specialist would have to wean me or it can cause complications ex. miscarriage. But my specialist told me to stay on them my whole pregnancy it depends on your situation.

At ten weeks the yolk sac is depleted it actually became part of the babies gut during week 7, the placenta which has been rapidly developing and growing since implantation should should soon be developed enough to withstand the pressure of moms blood flowing through the delicate little villi, until this point little plugs prevented maternal blood from entering the placenta, once the placenta is mature enough these plugs disappear, usually during early week 10 and now moms body has to oxygenate and provide nutrition and waste disposal for baby. So if you haven experienced breathlessness yet you might soon due to increased lung capacity and your kidneys will be working overtime so stay hydrated.

I feel the same way. I'm 11eks and wondering the same. I am sure our babies are just fine & strutting naturally. Let me know if you find anything on the internet. I think I remember seeing something that say 12wks. At my 10wk appointment my ultrasound tech didn't even mention anything about the placenta.

I pray that our babies are growing healthy. Good luck

The placenta begins to take over during week 10. I was on progesterone supplements, but was told to stop at week ten and let the placenta do its job. I'm 21 weeks and have not had any problems.
