Q: At home positive test, negative doctor's office test?

I've had 4 positive pregnancy tests at home, with two different brands. Today I went in to confirm, and the nurse said she did two tests and both were negative (I also heard her ask the receptionist at one point "Is that a line?"). My doctor sent me to do a qualitative beta hcg so I'll have an answer tomorrow. However, has anyone had this happen to them? What was the results?

I'm 4 weeks, 1 day according to my calculations.

Like Stickybean said - the doctors tests are not as sensitive as the more expensive "early response"-type ones that you can buy at the pharmacy and usually don't show up a positive until a few days after you are late. For one of my pregnancies, the test at the doctor's office was negative but I had brought my digital test that clearly said "Pregnant". My doctor even admitted that the brand I had brought in was more sensitive than the ones they used. The blood work will tell the real story. :)

Good luck!

It happenes to loads of people. The doctors tests are crap. They're not as sensitive as the FRER and store tests we buy. Plus there's of then can be read up until 20 mins and they tend to bin them after 10mins if they see nothing. It's happen to me and I took a whole bag of positive tests in to show them. Don't worry your HCG bloods don't lie and that will show them. :-)
