Q: Throwing my own baby shower??

I know this sounds weird but this is our first pregnancy and i love showers. Don't get me wrong, this has nothing to do with the gifts. I just think that showers are super fun! Especially the games. I know that no one will plan a shower for me. I don't have close relatives who care to do anything like that, even something very low key. In fact some family members have asked ME if am gonna have a shower. One of my aunts looked at me weird when I told her that I would mind going my own baby shower. She saidit's embarrassing because I have 4 aunts. Well? Do am I suppose to miss out because no one will do anything for me? Dh and I can biy everything on our own, it's not about that. I just really wanna do one and have fun. I know that you are not suppose to planning/throw your own shower but is it really bad if I do?

I don't see a problem with throwing your own if you don't have someone who wants to step up. Even if they did, I had a lot of fun with my first just getting to peak at what they were planning, and I even got to contribute a few ideas!

I've known people who threw their own shower. I wouldn't go without if no one will do it. I will likely plan my own because of similar circumstances. Like you said it's not about the gifts. I just want to have all my friends and family together to celebrate this blessing. I don't see anything wrong with it.

Maybe wait til the lil one is here and have a "sip & see"......a tea party where you invite folks to meet your new one. May be a little less awkward on the invite??/ just an idea
