Q: Stomach cramps at 27 weeks

Yesterday I had intense stomach cramps, similar to contractions. I felt my belly hardening. I got up and used the restroom and had very loose stools. I could barely get through a 10 minute shower without feeling nauseated and stomach tightening. My honey got me a big glass of water and I laid down to make sure little one was moving.Every time I got up my stomach cramped. I slept okay minus a Charlie horse. At work I felt the same cramps while standing. Signs of preterm labor or stomach bug? I am going to give my doctors a call tomorrow morning.

If your stomach is hardening, it's likely contractions. Intestinal issues can actually cause them, though, so it could all be related. If you have more than 6 in an hour, you should go in.

Sounds a lot like Braxton hicks contractions. Real contractions can be timed and get closer together and after a few hours should get checked out since you're not that far along.

Sounds like a stomach bug to me. Keep in mind, your innards are starting to get pretty darn compressed with baby in there, too, so distinguishing uterine cramps vs. intestinal cramps might be a little tough. For sure give your doc a call though
