I have had cramping from day one and brown discharge at 6/8/14 weeks. I am nearly 19 weeks now and all is good. It just happens to some women. The only time to worry is when you have SEVERE cramping and are doubled over in pain and have bright red bleeding.

On the contrary for me.. I have had brown discharge/spotting off and on since week 6.. I am now 10 and half weeks and all is fine. I do also get some sharp pains here and there but they don't last too long. I did of course however freak out every time with the brown spotting. Doc did take a sample of the discharge as he said sometimes its a sign of bacterial infection but.. I had that done weeks ago and never heard anything so I guess it was fine. Anyways I have had brown discharge/spotting off and on this pregnancy. The first time I do believe it was after intercourse but the second time it was after a BM. Lasted a few days to a week. Try not to stress too much unless the cramping becomes very painful like your laboring or strong period like cramping and or the spotting is changing colors to pink to bright red.. but.. do tell your doctor regardless. I have found that they always want to know anyways even if its brown.

WearinRed, in my past experience as well it hasn't turned out well either. I had an ectopic pregnancy over the summer but it was completely different pain that what I experienced earlier. Also, I bled for days upon days with it. This was a short strong pain followed with a gush of stuff.

Well, I am currently dealing with this. But in my past personal experiences. It hasn't turn out well. But I have seen friends with this be fine. Brown is better than pink and pink better than red. So of the unwanted colors of discharge you have the one with the most positive out comes.
