I had a posterior placenta with my first baby and this pregnancy I have an anterior placenta. I myself have not noticed a difference in movement, belly kicks etc. Felt this baby move at 17 weeks just like the first and kicks, rolls are just as strong. Probably just depends on the person. But there is nothing to be concerned about with an anterior placenta! If you have placenta previa (when it is covering your cervix) then that is an issue.

I also had an anterior placenta with my first pregnancy. It is perfectly normal and isn't actually a problem. The only thing you will notice is you will feel movement later and it will take awhile for the kicks to feel strong. My placenta muffled the kicks so much that my husband had trouble feeling the movement even when I was in my third trimester and you could see the movement on the outside. The placenta is a great shock absorber. :)

This time around I do not have an anterior placenta and I felt movement earlier and it feels stronger this time around so far.

I had an anterior placenta with my daughter and I have another one this time around! I was really hoping to NOT have an anterior placenta so I could see how they felt different, but no such luck! I didn't feel ANYTHING with my daughter until 20w and this time it was earlier than that, but probably only because it is #2! I've heard it can be a good thing because it serves as a cushion when the baby gets bigger and starts REALLY kicking. I never had any of those kicks to the ribs or anything that were painful or took my breath away like I have heard from some people! So that's a plus. :)

I also have an anterior placenta--it is totally normal. There is nothing to worry about and your doctor will monitor to see if it stays high up or will begin to lay low with the possibility of turning into placenta previa. The kicks are muffled and I am 29w3d although am beginning to see where he's kicking just by looking. Congrats!

I had a placenta that was in front. Nothing to worry about. Something to be aware though is that it might take longer to feel kicking. I didn't feel any until about 21 weeks.
