Try not too worry too much. I had the same thing and am still getting brown spotting on and off and I am 7w4d and all is ok. My dr scared me at the beginning by setting me up for a loss as went I got my first beta back ot was only 57 but it now turns out i as only 3w3d when it was taken but now 4 weeks later my little bean is strong and growing. Keep postive and staying smiling.

My OB wouldn't do a u/s when I was 5 weeks because he said he wouldn't be able to see anything but a empty sac...too early for baby to be seen. Since I have had m/c before he didn't want me to jump to conclusions and freak out. BUT I do know that at that early they can tell if the sac is in the uterus where it belongs or in the tubes. If the u/s tech saw it in the uterus I am not sure why they would tell you it still could be ectopic. That doesn't make sense. I hope they get it worked out soon for your peace of mind!

I had very good labs and spotting at 6 weeks which now went away. I am 8 weeks and things are good! Best wishes to you! :)

I had an u/s at 6 weeks (based on LMP) and all they saw was an empty sac. Three weeks later an u/s showed a healthy baby. They said I was a week earlier than I thought, which is why they didn't see anything in the first one. I certainly hope this is the case for you as well. Good luck:)
