Q: Sleeping

In 25 weeks and can't get a good night's sleep unless I'm on the couch with both head and feet propped up due to so much discomfort between my back and it feels like the baby is inn my ribs non stop. This is my 6th pregnancy but never had this issue with my others. Anyone have any suggestions that may help. Plan on talking to my doctor tomorrow also about it.

"yoga rib pain pregnancy" could help relieve your discomfort. However, I would suggest you spend a few minutes stretching out generally and then following these poses/ movements before bed.I attend regular yoga classes with a specialist who adapts poses for my pregnancy and other conditions. I also follow a great book called "Iyengar Yoga For Motherhood" which I would recommend if you feel the benefit. It has posed for different trimesters, during labor and afterward. Although my back aches have remained occasional, however, many women can feel them for a longer period of time. Chances are that even your child must be uncomfortable, but you have to be alright with the pain. It never gets better but you can only try. Goodluck !

Hi, everyone.
Discomfort, nauseous feeling, anorexia, amnesia, emotional imbalance, body aches, bleeding, loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, heavy urination, excessive thirst, and hunger, urge to beat, hot flashes. All these are a part of the wholesome package of pregnancy that comes with a baby at the end. And we ladies must try and get used to these terms. back aches and head aches can really feel like it is killing you. IT is so intense that you would want to jump off the cliff. And it can be just for a couple days, or in some cases can long as long as the entire duration of pregnancy. This mainly happens due to the wrong position that the baby might be aligned in during that particular day. As we all know that the baby moves inside the womb, so it keeps changing its position every now and then. This is why you can feel pain during one day but gone one the other. And most of the time is the pain can't go away using any pain killers. Allow the baby to align itself again.

Do a search for "yoga rib pain pregnancy" and you will find at least one good video that could help relieve your discomfort. Suggest you spend a few minutes stretching out generally and then following these poses/ movements before bed. I haven't had a good night's sleep since I was 11 weeks due to back pain and abdominal pain, but I do find that stretching out and doing yoga improves my quality of sleep overall. (I still find myself swapping around pillows and positions in bed to try and get comfy.) I attend regular yoga classes with a specialist who adapts poses for my pregnancy and other conditions. I also follow a great book called "Iyengar Yoga For Motherhood" which I would recommend if you feel the benefit. It has poses for different trimesters, during labour and afterwards. If you have an Iyengar yoga or pregnancy yoga class in your area, it could be worth going to it. Good luck!
