About MeLength of time TTC = 5.5 years. I'm 38 and over the moon that I'm finally pregnant!
This was achieved thanks to donor egg IVF. 1 embryo was transferred. The donor was anonymous, so all we know is her age and blood type - and that she looks a bit like me!
I have endometriosis, adenomyosis and rubbish eggs. I won't go into it all, but I've been through a lot to get here: numerous IVFs and surgery.
I had a dream the morning before I took the first pregnancy test. In the dream, we had adopted a 3 month baby boy and it looked exactly like my husband. We had to pick him up from a locker in a school to ensure that it was completely anonymous. He had a lovely personality, but we were quite unprepared: no cot, no nappies!
Early scan at around 7 weeks ruled out an ectopic and we have a nice strong heartbeat. Baby measured 8.9 mm.
Scans at 12 and 19 weeks show that baby is healthy, active and likely to be tall - like his or her Daddy.
Not finding out the gender until birth.
Baby is breech. They tried to turn him/ her, but couldn't.
UPDATE Planned C-section on Wed 17 May, 2017.
My Birth PlanRisks: Uterus is fused to bowel, but told this should not affect labour. Pregnancy is not considered high risk. I've had an easy pregnancy so far - fingers crossed! There is a somewhat higher risk of early labour, though my doc doesn't seem too worried. Feeling positive that this can be a smooth pregnancy and birth. :-)
:-( Plans for a home birth/ water birth scrapped due to baby presenting in breech position, spotted at a growth scan at 36w, still the same at 37w.
I've reminded myself how delighted I would have been to have reached term with a healthy baby at any point in my TTC journey.
C-section planned for 39w.
