My Journal

Short update...

Went for my weekly u/s to check the blood clot.....I never went in expecting good news after the gushes of blood that came out of me last week. The SCH (subchorionic hematoma) grew to 7cm. It WAS 2cm last week....so the clot grew 5cm after this last huge bleed. The clot, while large, is thin....but long.

My doctor was supposed to review everything and call me last night, but she never did. I am not sure what she wants me to do as far as work is concerned. I was on bedrest and the clot still grew, so I am not sure what bedrest again will do for me. I have done everything right....drank tons of water, didnt overdo it. I guess if this baby is meant to get here full-term than theres nothing I can do about it. I just have to sit here and either wait for this clot to completely overtake the pregnancy by causing early labor or it could just stay there and shrink.

Again, this is a horrible place to be and I envy all the other moms who dont have to live with this every moment of their pregnancies. After this, I will be having my tubes cut and burned.

I may not have a bleed, but I do have to worry that with each u/s that baby isn't getting sick with anemia. In turn will have to have a blood transfusion in utero. So I must pray that my blood isn't killing my baby boy!! I do understand and I hope that baby is safe for a lot longer!!

I'm so sorry this has been so rough for you, you're right, totally not fair. Thinking about you a lot, hoping that things get better or stay status quo and you get a little respite soon!
