SCH has shrunk, lots of BH contractions and 59% complete...whew...!

The good news is that at last check at our Friday ultrasound, the SCH (subchorionic hematoma) shrunk from 9cm to 4cm. The baby is growing great and is measuring a few days ahead of schedule. He weighed 1 pound 1 ounce and was constantly moving....as he does ALL the time.

The downside is that I have about 2 Braxton Hicks contractions an hour....which send me to Labor and Delivery a lot to get a cervical check and an FFN test to check for amniotic fluid leakage and the possibility of cervical dilation. My cervix hasn't changed in the last few weeks....so whatever is going on in there is baffling to me. I started to have BH with my son at 30 weeks....and I was 70% effaced and 2cm dilated when they checked me. This entire pregnancy has been a very bumpy one....and I thought the SCH was the biggest problem I had.

Other than all that....the baby shower is planned, we registered and also picked out the nursery set. We can't decide on names yet....I have a list I like but my husband isn't feeling any of them! Boys names are a bit harder to choose I think than girls names. We actually agreed early on on a girls name....and of course we found out we're having a boy! Figures!

Lastly....it sure feels good to see the 59% complete on my page. Glad we're over halfway there! Although, with this being my last pregnancy....I truly will miss the feeling of being pregnant. Shopping for maternity clothes has been fun (they are much cuter these days than 10 years ago!) and feeling the kicks, punches and rolls has been so reassuring that all is well.

Being physically active makes mine more frequent and intense too. I've read that they don't think it brothers the baby too much because its not real contractions trying to push him out. Its just your uterus hardening up and then relaxing. My dr says its far more irritating to me than him! Lol

I was just thinking about you and saw you had a new post. Great news that the hematoma decreased in size. Keep us posted on what they say about the bh contractions. Hope you can have a more normal remainder of your pregnancy!

Sassy....so funny you say that because I was just researching that! I get contractions if I have a full bladder, stand up, sit down, walk, stretch, empty my bladder/bowel, and basically anything else I physically do! I can actually on purpose cause a contraction because I know what sparks them. I'm assuming that's NOT true labor...LOL. However, I really really worry about what the contracting does to my little passenger in there...does it stress him out, hurt him? I have a doctors appt. scheduled for this upcoming week...so I can surely ask about all this.

You may just have an irritable utuerus which can cause many BH. With baby#2 I started going into constant contractions 2-3 min apart starting from 30-32 weeks. They weren't changing my cervix either but it was very tiring so I was induced at 37 weeks. After that pg though it didn't bother me as much. So maybe this is all you have. It sure is a pain in the you know where!!

I get the BH all the time! Like, 10 an hour when I'm moving around a lot. And they always start around 15 weeks. I'm pretty used to them now... lol My dr checked my cervix once, back when they started getting more frequent, but its all still fine in there. I just have a tendency to get a lot of them I guess. The bigger I get, the more intense they feel, but since they aren't doing anything to my cervix, I just try to ignore it. Not always easy! At my u/s on Tues I'm going to ask the tech to look at my cervix close and make sure it looks good from the other end too. So happy to hear that the sch has shrunk so much! Thats great news! I'm sure it makes it a little easier to relax and enjoy this pregnancy. I can't wait to see some adorable new baby pictures on here in a few months after everything you've been through to get this far. I'm very happy for you! :-)
