In labor.....preterm....

Well....here I lay in Labor and Delivery for the 6th time in 12 weeks....this time I am 50% effaced and 1cm dilated internally. I am being kept overnight....got a steriod shot in the bum (ouch!)....and am on a high dose of Procardia. Contractions have slowed and lessened in intensity....which is good news. I am just nervous now to even move....not wanting to put any pressure on my effacing cervix. My cervical length about 4 weeks ago was 3.6cm.....tonight I am sporting a 2.3cm long cervix. Ugh! I am 32 weeks but....a little too early to be starting labor. So.....hopefully I can keep this baby in at least 2 weeks longer....that would be a miracle. This whole pregnancy has been such a rocky road.....

As of right now, I am still in the hospital hooked up to the fetal monitor and receiving steroid shots and every 4-hour doses of 10mg of Procardia. Food isnt too bad....nurses (well most of them!) are very sweet and helpful. Husband is being Mr. Mom at home and thank God for all of the technology out there because I can Facetime with my 11 year old a few times a day. I will of course write an update as things progress. Fingers crossed I can be on bedrest at home soon!
	Comment from Eluria88 » Posted Jan. 11, 2014 10:50pm I hope your baby stays in a bit longer but I am really happy that from this point on your chances of having a healthy baby are very very high. My cousin was born pre-term at 24 weeks!! She lived after a few heart surgeries and is now a healthy 20 year old. Best of wishes to you and your little boy!
