5w6d: Holy Constipation, Batman!
By DestinyStarr » Posted Mar. 6, 2012 12:42pm - 16564 views - 9 comments

(This journal entry is not for the faint-at-heart. Consider yourself warned. lol)

If I don't "go" soon, I am going to explode.

Like for real.

I'm not talking these little fake-ass Reese cup poops, I need something HUGE to happen.

I am EXTREMELY bloated and EXTREMELY constipated. I look about 5 months pregnant right now. And it's not the good pregnancy look either. I'm not a small girl and I have quite a bit of belly candy, so this is looking well out of control at this juncture.

I've been drinking TONS of water, to no avail. I've been eating scores of veggies and apples too. Lots of good ol' flatulence, but no damn poop!

Then, I started eating Metamucil wafers. That of course is piling more upon the dump, but not helping to push it out yet.

Aye carumba!!!! I have got to be retaining at least 10 pounds of poop right now, I swear.

My only solace is that tiny life growing inside of me.... because this traffic jam that I've got going on inside is SO not right.

Mercy me... I stopped at the store and bought a box of prunes yesterday. Ate some last night, and this morning... and the flood gates have opened! YES!!!

I am right there with you... it's no fun. :( I don't have any advice since what I seem to be doing is not working.

Thanks for your input, ladies!! I've taken notes, and you'd better believe I'm going to do it all LMAO watermelon, prunes, more water, prune juice, apples, broccoli .... I was trying to stay away from the stool softeners for now even though I know my doctor has colace (i think) on her approved med list. I'll use those as an absolute last resort.

@knicole -- YESSSSSSSSSSSS the gurgle! OMG I just laughed SO hard at your post! That gurgle is maddening! Especially at night, when its quiet and my husband is all like -- do you need to use the toilet? LMAO!!!!!

Yes i am with you girl! I do finally now go like every other day but its like really hard and makes my butt hole burn afterward :/ I tried lots of water, fruit, metamucil caplets, smoothies.. you name it. The metamucil did kind of work but then I would feel the loosening of the bowels in the upper intestines but not the lower ones so my upper intestines would be gurgling and moving like i was gonna have diarrhea but when I 'd go sit on the flippin toilet ....nothin... or if i did it was like giving birth to a poop. lol.. I am so surprised I don't have hemorrhoids yet..just sayin... hang in there.

LOL!! I went through the exact same thing until about week 15! Not fun!! My dr told me to ease of the dairy and compensate the calcium through food sources like broccoli. Also, I was told to try taking my prenatals every other day because they can add to the constipation! I ate a lot of spinach to replace the folic acid. I was advised not to take any form of laxative as they could potentially cause miscarriage; prunes are the best way to go (my last resort!)

lmao. I'm sorry that you're uncomfortable, but the way you wrote the journal entry was pretty funny. Thank you for the laugh. Maybe some things I found on http://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/eating-well/week-10/smooth-moves.aspx can help you out. G luck mama.
