12 Weeks!

Time is slipping away on me - I just realized it's been a week since I really even got on here. Oops! Lots of things have been going on and while I'm still fighting the fatigue it makes it hard to try to keep up with tracking things. I really have been meaning to take a bump picture, but I haven't gotten around to it. What I DO have, though, is a tiny ultrasound of my little one!

My appointment on Friday last week was just fantastic! My hubby was able to come and I think this ultrasound was even more powerful than the first one. Now it looks like a baby, and we were fortunate enough that he/she was in a good mood and was moving around. The little arm was above his/her head and just looked like it was waving at us. It was just magical, really. Then she did the doppler and we got to hear the little heartbeat just racing away. She said it was in the 160s and was really happy with it. I know a higher HR is supposed to mean a girl, but I don't want to get my hopes up. ;)

We also checked out two day cares. One we liked, one we didn't. There are a few more on the list to look at before we make a decision, but I'm glad we're starting this whole process now. I wish I could take longer than 6 months off work, but with the crappy pay you get from short term disability there's no doubt I'll need to go back. Oh well, I feel fortunate we have the means for me to take off 6 months to begin with so I'll take it.

We also got ourselves scheduled for the big anatomy scan on May 2! It's perfect timing really, because my parents just booked a trip to come visit us that weekend - so we get to tell them the gender in person too! :) The hubby called it the gender ultrasound (or something like that) and made my doctor laugh. I really like her - she's easy to talk to, but also down to business. I really hope she's the one on call when I deliver.

Last but not least, the symptoms. Still dealing with some nausea and fatigue. Not as bad as it was during weeks 6-8, but not gone yet either. I've also started getting headaches, mild dizziness, and a lovely backache. Oh, and if I sit for too long my butt goes numb lol. Just another reason to make my lazy butt get away from the computer and take a quick walk during the day. :)
