4 month checkup

Had my 4 month checkup today and everything is looking good! No ultrasound today, but the heart rate was in the 150s and I measured at 17cm, which she was was right on since I'm just over 16 weeks. I also asked them to tell me how much weight I'd gained so far, and they said from the first time I saw them at 8 weeks until now I've gained 6 pounds. Since I lost a little weight at the beginning due to all the nausea I feel pretty good about that. My next appointment is on May 2nd and we get to find out the gender! EEK!!!

I also went down to the lab for the quad screening. They said it takes 7-10 days to get the results back and if it comes back with an increased risk my doctor will call me. So, I just have to hope that I don't get a call back. I wish they called you no matter what, oh well.

In other news, I got my first nosebleed of my entire life 2 mornings ago. I've never had one, but with the pregnancy and this never-ending cold, dry weather I guess it was my time. I don't know how I managed to not get blood on our white sheets, but I somehow woke up and made it into the bathroom before it went everywhere. I really hope I don't get another one, that wasn't exactly a pleasant experience!

I know this sounds silly, but I'm still a bit self-conscious about my bump. We spend our entire lives trying to suck it in and be skinny, and it's hard for me to come to grips with the idea of letting it stick out. Not like I have much choice these days, but I'm very aware of how it looks. I'm sure it'll be easier as my bump gets bigger and there won't be any doubt I'm pregnant, and not fat...it's just a mental thing.

Happy Friday, everyone! :)
