Caroline is Five Weeks Old!

I can’t believe how quickly the time is passing already! I thought the first weeks of having a newborn were supposed to drag by! I feel a little shortchanged but I guess it only applies if you are struggling. I have been blessed twice over with babies who are good sleepers, excellent eaters and a body that, while struggling to be as sexy as I’d like ever in my life, has great stamina and functions happily on limited sleep. I actually have to work harder to keep my dang husband functioning than I do either of the kids. *Chuckle* Okay, that’s a bit of an exaggeration but not as much as I’d like. Hah! We managed to survive the Easter weekend with all our company but not without a few bumps and bruises. As it turns out, one of the children that came (second cousins-in-law) was originally ill (vomited on my mother-in-law during dinner Saturday) and, upon recovery, turned out to be the meanest kid I have ever met at our house on Sunday. It started with hearing my son screaming from his room because the kid had THROWN his new robot dinosaur in a temper (the kid is nearly four!), to seeing him shove my boy at the top of the stairs (made my heart stop, which I blame for yelling at someone else’s child) over a difference in opinion where the boy was proven wrong, to finally throwing one of Sebastian’s Nerf guns at his own seven year old brother and cutting open his head. There was blood gushing and the brother was naturally freaking out, though it ended up being superficial. *Sigh* Needless to say, we were all glad to see the back of them. But then both Bash and I woke up with belly aches and ended up throwing up just like that little devil child… *Hangs Head* It passed after a day or so but now he has a fever and is missing yet more school. Fortunately, it’s supposed to be bad weather tonight so teeball will probably be canceled rather than me having to keep him home and thoroughly breaking his little heart. Pray that I can keep his sister from catching anything. But that’s all that’s new with us this week. Next week I’ll have more to report. Princess Caroline has an ultrasound on her hips (just a precaution since she was breech) and her six-week appointment and I have my (hopefully) release. It’s also Spring Break so I need to think of some fun things for us to do. I hope everyone is having a great last day of March!

Well, it sounds like your Easter was, um....eventful, haha :) Man, if that kid got me sick, I'd be pissed! But I guess as moms, it's bound to happen. Just waiting to get all the daycare sicknesses the twins will bring home. I think us moms have some gene that allows us to survive without sleep. Those first weeks with the twins were rough but my husband was acting like he never slept (when he would sometimes get a good 8 hours!). It's the same as when they are sick, it's like having ANOTHER kid! Good luck on the ultrasound, we have to have them too and all turned out fine. Our technician was amazing with the twins and they hardly cried...I hope you all have one just as caring and calm.
