First REAL Prenatal Appointment

It's in the books officially. As much as I really liked the doctor, he only does the first 8 months of OB care and in the final month would transfer me to a partner who will deliver and I'm not a huge fan of that idea so I'll be setting up a meeting with a doctor who will be with me through the entire process.
The appointment went well. I managed to get some Zofran to help me keep food and fluids down. I'm down 24 lbs in the last 3 weeks so I NEED food. I've been miserable but Zofran is a life saver.
They took plenty of blood and ran the additional test for Factor Five that I requested. Two of my three older cousins have it so it was a legitimate concern.
I also spoke to him about my major hernia repair that I'd had done at 14. I was born is a major diaphragmatic hernia and they found 2 feet of my large intestines wrapping around my heart. I was concerned what effect, if any, the repair would have on my ability to deliver naturally. Thankfully, he said he doesn't anticipate much other than some increased discomfort when my skin starts to stretch due to scar tissue.
All in all, I'm happy to have food and water now, and the baby is doing perfectly. We're so blessed and extremely excited. It makes my heart so happy to see Josh move from terrified to excited so quickly. He even talks to meatball!
Oh, and he came up with a new boy name. If it's a boy, we're now considering Chance Burton...ya know...because there was such a minimal chance of this happening! haha. I love it and so does he.
