32 weeks, 1 day: update and question

My best friend threw me a surprise "sprinkle" on Saturday. Now I HATE surprise parties, I hate being the center of attention.... but with so many people I was able to hide out in the back and talk to small groups of friends from hundreds of miles away. I honestly don't know how I got so lucky to have these people in my life.
Now, pretty sure I am getting Braxton Hicks. It is like this random period pain low in my back that has been coming and going since Saturday night. With my first baby, I didn't get the whole "30 second contractions every five minutes" thing. It was just a constant pain in my lower back that never went away so during labor I was just pushing and pushing. Is this a normal thing? Is something wrong that I dont know what a typical contraction is? I'm getting anxious the closer I get to my DD because of all these complications thrown at me this time so I'm freaking out more than I did with my daughter. :-/ and nesting like crazy. I want to wash all the baby clothes ans hang up pictures.... didn't nest with my daughter.....
