Q: When is it ok to start trying for another after giving birth?

I left it quite late to start a family. I am 30 in a few months and i currently have a 5 month old. I definitely want more children, but when is it "too soon" to start trying for another? what age gap are your children?

I have a 5 year gap between my children for my own personal beliefs, one being that I wanted to enjoy my son whilst he was young and not at school and also because I don't think i would have the patience/time to deal with two little ones so close together, but obviously as I said these are only my personal view.
Anyway I really just wanted to add that I have several friends with children close together, most recently my friend had her second birth before her first was a year. She conceived when he was three months old. At no point did she suffer any complications, nor was the age thing raised by any doctors, so Im not sure how true it is that the effect on yours and babies health Will be negative.
I would also add that I don't think 30 is late starting as you would expect at least 10 years of fertility left. It is such a personal decision that you should make thinking about your life and what suits you.
