Q: When do they get more intense???

5 hours ago I started having painful contractions. I've had Braxton hicks for the last 3 weeks but these are now painful and accompanied by radiating back pain and period pain. They started off at 30mins apart, then 20mins now they are 15mins. They make me stop and concentrate but not the excruciating pain I thought they are "supposed" to be. Is it because I could still b in early labour and they will get more intense as I go along??? Hope this isn't a false alarm!!

Managed to get a few hours sleep, woke up to them being every 10mins now for the last hour. Going to start tracking them in my contractions app now as oppose to click glancing and see how it goes!

hang in there! If you think you need to be in the hospital..go. You know your body best. Try to rest..your baby is making her/his way. FOR sure!

Sorry I don't have any advice for you... Just wanted to say good luck, and wishing that all goes smoothly. I don't have any experience to draw from, but it sounds like labor to me. Hoping things pick up for you! Keep us posted!

Go and see a midwife. I did and was told I was in early labour and just had to wait this stage out, but at least I know its not a false alarm. Its just not fun having constant contractions for 4 days so far.
Braxton hicks will stop if you change position or drink fluids and wont follow a pattern and definitely wont last for 4 days straight like mine have so i know mine are real contractions and have been told i am in labour. Go and get checked out instead of guessing because if you are before 37 weeks its not good.

uhm braxton hicks are none of those things. I am sorry hun but like mamaof3 said its your body and you know it best not any doctor or midwife.. It does sound like you are in early labor and i know some women have experienced early labor for as long as a few days to even a couple weeks. Just keep timing them... how long are they lasting now??

I think you are correct about the time frame (unless you live far from the hospital). You could always give Labor and Delivery a call and check with them. Are you having more than 4 an hour? If so, you probably should go in:-) Good luck!!!
