Q: How was your C-section if you had one and was it planned or unplanned?

I have been told by my OB that he is pretty sure that I will need to have a planned C-section due to gestational diabetes. The baby's head appears rather large and they are concerned with me being able to push them out without injuring the baby. Although I will not do anything to jeopardize my baby's health I am extremely unhappy about this as all along that has been the biggest thing I didn't want. This is our first baby and nothing has really gone according to plan but I am very blessed and grateful that currently the only obstacle is their size. I work with handicapped children so I know things could be much worse. I was just hoping some of you that have already gone through this could tell me more about it as my mom and MIL want to talk about how it's not so bad but neither of them have had to go through it. I know they are trying to be supportive but are upsetting me more in reality.

Again I'm not trying to freak you out or anything just being honest. It was a great experience- got to hear my babys first cry and hear the doctors commenting on how much hair my son had and of course I can remember what song was playing during the c-section(journey-wheel in the sky, Love Journey :). My son is now 2 and I'm 11 weeks 1 day with baby #2 and was told there's a very good chance I don't have to have a c-section this time around, I wouldn't have cared if I had to have another c-section but I would like to try a vaginal birth for the experience, especially since this will be my last( 2s enough for this gal lol) If you have any questions feel free to message me and ask.

I had a c-section w/ my son. It honestly wasn't that bad I had a spinal w/ morphine, just scary 4 me because my water broke @ 36 wks & I wasn't supposed to have my c-section till 37 wks because my son was a gastoschisis baby & he had to have surgery right away so I only got to see him for literally 5 scds before he was rushed away. The recovery process was a little hard on me, but I think it was a bit worse because of the stress I was dealing w/. Just take your pain meds as directed because I noticed if I didn't take them on time I would feel the pain greatly. I think it took about a month for me to not have to take my pain meds regularly to get around. Not trying to scare you but you should know exactly what your going to be dealing w/, I wish someone would have been honest w/ me about recovery & what not. Oh if possible see if they can use glue instead of staples, it's easier to take care of and the scar looks nicer.

Hi i have had 2 c-sections with my first i went into normal labor but the baby was getting very stressed and what putting pressure on his heart so i was rushed in and had emergency c-section where i was put to sleep .
it was so horrible and i hated it but i had my son in my arms after it all ... i wanted a normal labor but it just didnt happen (my son will be 6 in june) ... my second was a planned c-section where i had a spinal and my partner was by my side and to be honest i loved it i felt i was involved they talk and tell you whats going on and the best thing is when you hear your baby cry for the first time its amazing !!!! it was the best day of my life having my boys ...i am 6 weeks pregnant and will be having another c-section ;) you will be nervous and worried its only normal take care x
