Yes I will be waiting till at least it has stopped pulsating. That blood that still pumping to your baby doesn't need to be interupted, by anyone, there is no reason anyone needs to be in a hurry to cut the cord.I believe and have done a lot of research in the benefits of waiting!

When I gave birth the midwife automatically waited to cut the cord until after it had stopped pulsing. To be honest I hadn't given it much thought, but having read about the benefits of waiting until it stops pulsing I'm very glad she did.

That's great. My son suffered low iron for the first 18 months of his life, and he was breastfed. So he didn't get any iron from formula. They cut his cord within minutes after being born, and I feel if they hadn't been so quick to cut it, he wouldn't have suffered with low iron in the beginning of his life. It's disappointing that I didn't know better back then (and how should I have?) yet the doctors who are suppose to know best, weren't even aware of the benefits to letting him have all the blood, intended for HIM. Such a waste.
I'm very excited to get to do-over my mistake from last time. I'm so excited baby will get all his/her blood. I have no idea how my Dr. will think of it though! Hopefully I get to birth with an awesome midwife who "gets it".

This is a part of my birth plan and I plan to wait until the cord has stopped pulsing. I know that my doctor is very supportive of this. I have learned about many positive things when it comes to delayed cord cutting and it seems the way to go :)
