Q: not so much a question but just need to talk to someone

hi all. Im 19weeks and 1 day today. last night i was having some pains which i can only describe as sort of labour pains. they were every few minutes or so and lasted about an hr in total. today i phoned up my midwife and told her about them (just incase) this is my 3rd pregnancy and i luckily (fingers crossed) never lost any babys but i have never felt these pains before and i am really worried as the midwife wants me to go to hospital later and have a scan. she thinks they may just be braxton hicks but just wants to check. i honestly didnt know you could get them so early. anyone else get these pains so early? or have something similar?

Probably is Braxton Hicks but if you get worried, my doc said to try laying down on the left side and drink some water, sometimes dehydration can cause contractions as well.

thank you. i didnt have braxton hicks with my other two so it really put me on edge. i do get the feeling the midwife is right but then a horrible feeling at the back of my mind as i had bleeding early on due to a hemorage and i have a history of pre eclampsia. so everything makes me jump at the minute.

I had pains early with my daughter but since she was my first I had no idea what was going on. I didn't worry so much until it happened again a day or so later but the drs confirmed it was braxton hicks. I was maybe 18ish weeks when I started feeling them! I had extra scans and all just to be safe but nothing ever came of it. Hopefully all is fine!
