Q: Anyone with a Clomid success story with a short luteal phase?

I had a misacarriage at 12 weeks and after seeing a Reproductive Endocrinologist I was told what I already told my OBGYN who never once checked my progesterone levels that this was the reason miscarried. My luteal phase was 7 days I told my OBGYN that and they never supplemented me with progesterone. I however use OTC progesterone. My RE is putting me on clomid I'm just wondering if anyone out there had the same situation and clomid was the answer thanks!

I was put on clomid for non-ovulation, she put me on 50mg CD 5-9 after taking provera for 10 days to bring my AF. It worked the first round surprisingly!! I love clomid and I would recommend it to anyone who is TTC! good luck with you journey!!

I was put on clomid for anovulation, but it is known to support the luteal phase. As it was explained to me by my RE, this is done because clomid increases the size of your follicles - better follicles make more progesterone and are more likely to support a pregnancy. Your doc should also be checking your progesterone regularly through blood tests, especially at 21d or sooner if you have a potential LP defect and can see if you need additional supplementation. It may take 1-2 clomid cycles for the RE to get it all perfect so that your body can support a pregnancy, but it is possible and the REs are great, in my experience. Although it's hard, try to be patient with your RE... my clomid took 3 cycles to make me ovulate, but that was enough to get me a BFP :) Good luck!!
