I have already had 3 children, and i had my mother and husband with me for the births, but i will assure you the nurses are amazing, supportive, and extreamly helpful. if you do go in alone, they will make sure you dont feel alone

My husband is in Korea for a year (in the army) and while he IS going to be here for a month around the due date there is still that chance that my lil man maybe too early or too late for my husband to be here. I also just moved when I was 15 weeks from WA where I am from and where my family is to CO.. where I know really seriously ...no one. So... I have decided to hire a doula. It was just really important for me to have the support I need since this is my first baby and I am so far from home and ..well everyone of my family members and friends. I would look into hiring a doula. Depending on where you live they CAN be spendy but... a lot of them will take a payment plan OR you can find a doula that is working on a certification *if your comfortable* One gal on here is doing so without having to pay for her services. Its something to think about and look into. :)

I'm worried about the same thing. I don't have any family here on my partners family. With his job he can't just leave. When our son went to the hospitol it took him almost 6 hours to get there. I know many labors last longer than that but with my first son I was only in labor for 8 1/2 hours and here the second one usually is the same or quicker. Wish I had some advise for you. I know that I got lucky with amazing nurses during my first labor/delivery so hoping for the same this time. Good luck!
